Denman’s Big Blowout competition celebrates rising stylists and sees Brandon Davenport claiming first prize in the national contest.
The Big Blowout competition, Denman‘s inaugural College Star USA event, concluded, revealing the skilled winners after weeks of careful deliberation and three rigorous rounds of judging. Brandon Davenport, from Paul Mitchell The School, Richland, WA, secured the coveted first prize. She earned $425 cash and a valuable one-year PBA Membership. Kyra Soard, representing Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology, claimed the second prize. She received $200 and a one-year PBA Membership. Sarah Mishler, from Douglas J Aveda Institute, achieved third prize. She won $100 and a one-year PBA Membership. Brandon masterfully created a stunning, glossy, and perfectly balanced loose wave blow-dry on her model. Furthermore, judges awarded second and third prize to Kyra and Sarah, respectively, for the exceptional visual appeal and high quality of their submitted work.

“Blow-dry skills are one of the key skills to master,” says Denman CEO Victoria Fishman. “This competition shows that hairdressing students all over the USA are determined to do just that. We wanted to offer cosmetology students a way to show off their skills, as well as giving them the encouragement they so deserve. We are so grateful to every student that entered.
